About Us
In 2009, 3 friends came together and agreed that because of the blend of experience, skills and knowledge between us, we had what it took to successfully launch a unique company. Collectively, we’re a unit of creativity, fresh ideas, and sound business acumen. And, our own unique skills and experience are gelled together by our passion for what we’re creating every day.
So what are we creating? Well firstly, we’re in the business of building engaging retail environments in the digital space. Put simply, we build fantastic online shops that sell…well anything. We started with RascalRags.co.uk and we grew from there with more web-stores planned for 2010 and beyond. Yes, there’ll be a lot going on from our small nerve centre on the edge of Gower and hopefully lot’s more going out from our new distribution centre in Fforestfach, Swansea.
If you’d like to talk to us one day, this is who you might speak with if you give us a call. (photos to come soonish)
Stephen Hewitt
Steve is the guy who’s done it and still doing it. Steve graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Business Studies. Since then Steve has worked in Wales, London and New York in various marketing roles. In 2001, Steve set up Result Online Ltd, an online marketing company with some of the most successful comparison websites of their time.
After selling the business in 2006, Steve continued to work for the London based company on the board of directors before leaving to set up Tootonic with best friend David Chriswick in 2008, where he plans to repeat the success he enjoyed in the past. As the most ‘techie’ of the team, Steve’s specific roles and responsibilities at Tootonic include IT systems and directing website development.
Karen Hailes
Karen has been working in the business for a number of years and has built up somewhat of a reputation as a professional eBay expert, gaining and maintaining Power Seller and Top Rated seller status in a very short space of time. Apart from years of successful online retailing, Karen’s experience in corporate communications has transferred effectively to benefit Tootonic’s online brands. Her work ethic and strong office management skills keep the place in ship shape condition whilst also delighting retail customers and Tootonic’s corporate clients alike in her customer service role.
As a mother of two, Karen understands retailing to mums and so takes on board the majority of development and fulfilment roles across our online shopping channels. Her specific role within the organisation largely revolves around the supply chain function from buying to fulfilment of orders.
